Recently, the China Insurance Industry Association issued the "China Business Health Insurance Development Index Report" (hereinafter referred to as "Report"). According to the "Report", the penetration rate of China's health insurance market in 2017 was only 9.1%. Although China's insurance growth rate is very fast, there is still a certain gap with developed countries. The 2018 China Business Health Insurance Development Index is 63.0, which is an improvement compared with 2017 (60.6), but the overall development is at the basic level, and there is still much room for improvement.

 

The "Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline also clearly stated that by 2030, the medical security system supplemented by basic medical insurance as the main body and other forms of supplementary insurance and commercial health insurance will mature.
